We have lost a connection to the 650,000 men and women that served our country in World War One. John Babcock was 109. It is truly the end of an era.

Last winter our dog Beauty and I would go for a walk first thing after letting all the animals out.
It hasn't happened quite so much this winter. Today we have managed to make a walk a top morning priority. Some geese have just flown by overhead and the wind is chilly, but it is a lovely winter morning!
Tim and I had one of our roosters for our Valentine's Day dinner. We will sit, have a drink and watch River Cottage.
