What a great time
Okay, so it was only a half hour workshop. But it was a lot of fun! Sunday we went to the Guelph Wellington Local Food Fest at Ignatius (see below blog).
The main reason for going was to do a workshop. Well, I was doing the workshop while Tim provided moral support in the audience.Presenting a brand new idea to a group of people is always nerve-wracking. I was really nervous about this as it is a personal project that is close to my heart.
We arrived at the Fest and saw a huge stage with microphones, speakers, and the presenters wearing headsets. I really hoped that I wasn't going to be up there as my little pad of paper wouldn't have been much good. Luckily that isn't where I was presenting. I was going to be tucked away in the back of the festival in a much smaller, and more intimate tent. I was very relieved when I saw that. I told Heather, the woman in charge of the tent I was there and proceeded to wait. Angelica from
Transition Guelph gave a great presentation about what Transition Guelph does. Virgini, the
Treemobile founder, also did a little presentation about the Treemobile.
Suddenly I was up in front of people and away. It went really well and there was a lot of interest in the $100 Food Forest. It felt really good to be able to tell people about permaculture and have them enjoy and understand it. Thanks to everyone that was there!
I can't wait to have the full length course! I am looking for a good weekend in the near future.
